Noreen Shaikh, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. She received her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, graduating summa cum laude. She then received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, where she was president of her class. Following this, she completed an internship in internal medicine at Overlook Medical Center, Atlantic Health System. She pursued her residency in ophthalmology at Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University, where she received extensive training in complex eye diseases. Dr. Shaikh specialized in retina surgery, completing her vitreoretinal fellowship training at Beth Israel Lahey Health, Massachusetts. She is trained in the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques for diseases of the retina and vitreous, as well as advanced techniques for the repair of dislocated intraocular lenses.
Dr. Shaikh is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists and Women in Ophthalmology. She has contributed to multiple publications in peer reviewed journals.
